These rules help keep Global Link Directory useful, safe, and organized. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, placement, continued publication, or a particular review time.
The submitted URL should lead directly to a working website with substantial content. Do not submit parked domains, unfinished pages, login-only destinations with no public explanation, error pages, temporary campaigns, or URLs that immediately redirect to an unrelated domain. The site should function in ordinary modern browsers and should not require visitors to disable security protections.
Select the narrowest category that describes the website’s main purpose. Do not submit the same domain to many unrelated categories or create multiple submissions for small URL variations. Editors may move a listing when another category is more accurate.
Use the real organization, publication, project, or website name. Descriptions should explain what visitors can find in plain, factual language. Avoid repeated keywords, excessive capitalization, unverifiable superlatives, prices that change frequently, promotional calls to action, and claims such as “best,” “guaranteed,” or “number one” without credible independent evidence.
Websites should make their responsible organization or publisher reasonably clear. Commercial services should provide business contact information and important terms. Professional services should not misrepresent licenses or credentials. News, educational, scientific, and health content should identify authors, editors, institutions, or review processes where those details matter.
Submissions may be rejected for malware, deceptive downloads, phishing, impersonation, hidden redirects, forced browser notifications, intrusive pop-ups, credential theft, or requests for unnecessary sensitive data. Sites that collect personal information should publish a clear privacy policy and use appropriate transport security.
Do not submit websites primarily distributing unauthorized copyrighted material, counterfeit products, stolen data, or content that unlawfully uses another party’s identity or trademarks. Quotations, images, software, and media should be used with permission, a valid license, or another lawful basis. Directory inclusion is not a ruling on ownership disputes.
Do not submit doorway pages, automated site networks, hidden text, cloaked content, paid-link pages with no independent value, or domains created mainly to manipulate search rankings. Reciprocal links, when requested, must not be hidden or placed on an unrelated domain. A link exchange does not guarantee acceptance.
Health, legal, financial, safety, and emergency information must not promise guaranteed outcomes or discourage appropriate professional help. Medical pages should distinguish general education from diagnosis or treatment. Financial pages should disclose material risks and fees. Legal information should identify jurisdiction and avoid pretending to create a professional relationship.
Resources about ethnicity, religion, politics, public issues, and identity should represent people accurately and avoid harassment, dehumanization, or incitement. Advocacy websites may be listed when their viewpoint and responsible organization are clear. Opinion should not be presented as neutral fact.
Retailers and marketplaces should provide real product information, total-cost and delivery details, return policies, and secure payment practices. Auction sites should disclose fees and bidding terms. Sites promoting counterfeit goods, deceptive subscriptions, or fabricated discounts may be rejected.
Listings may be edited for clarity, recategorized, temporarily withheld, or removed when a site changes, becomes unavailable, or violates these rules. Editors may use automated and manual checks, but visitors should still evaluate destination websites independently. A previously accepted site is not permanently exempt from review.
Use the contact and help page to report a broken link, harmful behavior, misleading description, ownership change, or category error. Provide the exact directory page and destination URL. Do not include passwords, one-time codes, full payment details, or unnecessary personal documents.
